Regional Conference BeLux 2022

Recent evolutions in Quantum Computing
2022-10-18, 13:30–14:15, Room 2

Quantum Computing is a recent completely new paradigm that has the potential to complement the Classical Computing we know for many decades, for solving intractable problems. Think about several types of optimization challenges, chemistry and material science, decisions in the the financial services sector, sustainability issues, and of course artificial intelligence as immediate application areas and associated use cases. For the latter, the term "Quantum Machine Learning" is becoming a well-known research area that has the advantage that even with Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum computers, it is possible to come up with valid solutioning techniques and algorithms. In this lecture, the audience is brought up-to-date with the most recent evolutions of this new computing practice, making evident that now is the time to invest in developing appropriate skills. The lecturer will make clear how you can start your Quantum Journey. "There are no fast followers in Quantum Computing" and professionals that want to lead with innovation tomorrow should get "Quantum Ready" today.
